First of all, learning languages is about starting to take part in the countries where the language is spoken. Then, it helps you to socialize and communicate for example, you can make new friends who have different origins than you. It is better for travelling as you need to get help sometimes to know where you are going, to know how much you need to pay, etc. The universities will prefer students with the capabilities to speak more than languages and in jobs, the managers always like the ones who speak a lot of languages.
