bonjour, est il possible de corriger ma dissertation d'anglais sur le thème "American dream", j'ai beaucoup de mal avec cette matière…
Merci beaucoup !
Over times some personalities like Oprah Winfrey, Steve jobs or John D. Rockefeller have become icons of the famous "American dream». This notion is concretized in the lives of individuals at the bottom of the earning scale who Through the song, sports or the media will raise their social status. However, apart from this positive aspect, we may wonder to what extent the material aspect and the obsession of the success can sometimes transform the American dream into an “American nightmare”.
On the one hand, it is sometimes the fact of having too much money thanks to their success that people turn their American dream into a nightmare.
Indeed, in our society and even more in America, money is synonymous with power and easily one can be surpassed by so much possession.
In some people, too much money could be harmful to the happiness creating a real nightmare. we sometimes arrive at dramatic suicide situations like the singer Avicii.
Others intend to transgress laws (embezzlement, drugs, rapes, crimes ...) in order to gain more power. We can talk about OJ Simpson, a famous NFL player whose American dream turned into a nightmare after he was accused of the murder of Nicole Brown (his ex-wife) and Ronald Goldman.
On the other hand, some people can find a true balance despite this success provided that they are generous and they don’t show selfishness,
For instance, Oprah Winfrey, a famous media executive, actress, talk show host and television producer mustered up her energy for fight against racism sexism and poverty thanks to his
fortune. that makes her one of the most generous celebrities in America.
To conclude, the American dream turned easily into a nightmare unless the person is not only interested in his happiness but in that of others.
when we have everything, it's harder to find meaning in your life, the best way is being a philanthropist.
Merci beaucoup !
